FIA Uganda is Happy to Join the 28th Egmont Plenary, Riga ,Latvia
The Executive Director, Financial Intelligence Authority - Mr. Sydney Asubo, representing Uganda at the 28th Egmont Group (EG) Plenary.
The Egmont Group (EG), a widely recognized and a highly respected international organization with a membership of 166 countries today and still growing, facilitates and promotes information exchanges among FIUs.
EG Plenaries’ central theme generates strategic, focused, and consequential meetings that produce tangible, take-home results. This year’s theme New Ways to Drive FIU Effectiveness in a Risk-Based Environment, is featured in discussions throughout the week, is the final Heads of FIU meeting focus, and covers multilateral information-sharing mechanisms, governing and prioritizing domestic and international cooperation, and enhancing FIUs’ role in domestic AML/CFT systems. The EG Plenary is happening from July 10, 2022 to July 15, 2022 hosted by the Latvia FIU, at Riga, Latvia.
